Man allegedly steals $11K from cemetery association

JACKSON TOWNSHIP, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Police say they arrested a man after allegedly stealing over $11,000 from Huntsville Cemetery Association.

The Jackson Township Police Department has charged former President/Treasurer 82-year-old Robert Bullock from Dallas for allegedly stealing funds from the Huntsville Cemetery Association.

According to the Jackson Township Police Department, on January 24 police received the report of funds being stolen for the Huntsville Cemetery Association.

During the investigation, police said records showed from January to November 2023 a total of $11,400 was missing from the association.

The release states Bullock was writing checks from the association to his private business and depositing them into his bank account.

On March 1 investigators said during the Bullock interview he admitted to stealing the funds with the intent to pay the “cemetery back with interest” and he blamed COVID and health problems as the reason for the financial issues they have occurred.

Court documents state Bullock was arraigned Wednesday on two counts of theft by unlawful taking or disposition.
