Man accused of stealing motorhome arrested in Colma

(KRON) – The Colma Police Department arrested a man who allegedly stole a motorhome.

While conducting a passing check at a shopping center, Colma police officers noticed a parked white Forest River motorhome around 4:13 a.m. on Tuesday. According to the police investigation, the motorhome was reported stolen to the Concord Police Department.

Officers entered the motorhome and located a man sleeping alone at the kitchen table. The suspect gave the officers a false identification after being detained, police said. Police investigation revealed the suspect’s real name. The suspect was identified as 51-year-old Douglas Edwards. According to police, Edwards is unhoused.

Police discovered Edwards has a total of three warrants: a $50,000 felony warrant, a $20,000 felony warrant, and a $2,500 misdemeanor warrant for his arrest from outside agencies.

Edwards was arrested and booked into the San Mateo County Jail for having a stolen vehicle, taking a vehicle without the owner’s consent, giving false identification to a peace officer and his three warrants.

The motorhome was towed and returned to the owner police said.
