Man accused of Baton Rouge shooting that left one dead was arrested in Georgia, sent back
BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – An arrest was made in connection with a deadly shooting on Friday, May 26, 2023.
Keith Williams, 34, was charged with second-degree murder and illegal use of weapon.
The shooting took place in the 4100 block of West Brookstown Drive. The Baton Rouge Police Department said in a news release that Robert Lee Lavallias Jr. 29, died at the scene.
Williams “was originally arrested by the U.S. Marshals Task Force in Dekalb County, Georgia as a fugitive,” according to the BRPD. He was then extradited to Baton Rouge.
Williams was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on Thursday, March 21.

According to the parish prison inmate list, no bond has been set for Williams as of the publication of this article. He remains in jail.
