Malina Hreib: Your Volusia-Flagler Student of the Week for May 6-10

The results are in, and Flagler-Palm Coast High School's Malina Hreib has been named The News-Journal's Student of the Week for May 6-10.

Hreib is the first IB Scholar in Dance Standard Level – World Dance Study Project. She was captain of the Flagler-Palm Coast swim team in 2023, was the youngest lifeguard representing Flagler Beach in the USLA National Competition in August 2023, and has been a FPS state level competitor for six years in a row. Hreib plans to attend Stetson University and major in marine science. She claimed 64% of votes.

Deltona High School's Kendall Donohue took second with 35% of votes.

The Student of the Week poll launches every Monday and closes at noon Thursday.
