Major Lincoln County road closed until Thursday morning from ’emergency’ work

DENVER, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Part of a major Lincoln County road is closed overnight Wednesday.

According to the N.C. Department of Transportation, N.C. 16 Business will be closed between N.C. 73 and North Pilot Knob Road for “emergency road work” until 7 a.m. Thursday. The closure occurred Wednesday around 6:30 p.m.

Crews will be working to repair a water main break, Lincoln County officials say. There also was a water outage associated with the break.
