Mahoning Township Police complete aggressive-driving enforcement period

Apr. 29—MAHONING TWP. — Over the past several weeks, the Mahoning Township Police Department joined the Pennsylvania State Police and more than 300 municipal police agencies in an effort to target aggressive-driving enforcement.

From March 18 to April 28, the Mahoning Township Department made 42 contacts and issued 42 aggressive-driving related citations, according to a press release.

Police were focused on distracted driving, speeding and work zone awareness as well as driving too fast for conditions, following too closely and other aggressive actions, according to the release.

Part of the Pennsylvania Highway Safety Program, the enforcement is funded by part of PennDOT's investment of federal funds from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
