BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — Lyle Lovett and his Acoustic Group are set to perform two nights at Buck Owens Crystal Palace.

Rick Kreiser with the Guitar Masters joined 17 News to speak about why the “soul of the Crystal Palace” made Lovett take a break from playing at performing art centers to play country music’s legendary music venue on March 26 and 27th.

The first performance sold out quickly, according to Kreiser. Tickets are still available for the second show.

“We don’t do a lot of stage diving at Guitar Masters. So it is more of a listening room environment. If you ever been to a Lyle show you’ll know that he’s a great storyteller, as well as, a wonderful artist so he really brings the whole room in and having it at the Palace where it’s so intimate is going to be a special experience,” Kreiser said.

Lyle Lovett won a Grammy for Best Male Country Vocal Performance in 1989. His music includes elements of country, western, folk, swing, jazz, bebop, blues and gospel music.
