Lupita Nyong'o Just Dropped a Rap Song on Instagram

From Harper's BAZAAR

Most people celebrate big Instagram milestones with a special photo or heartfelt message-but Lupita Nyong'o is not like most people. The actress fêted acquiring 3 million followers with a rap video and an introduction to her alter ego, TROUBLEMAKER.

First she starts off with this killer opener: "Mexican born, Kenya running through my veins / Dark chocolate, plus I keep a sharp mane." The intro sets the scene for the rest of the verse-it's sharp and boastful, yet classy. (She even throws in: "Lancôme fresh-faced, looking tailor-made / Disney on the books, so you know I stay paid" and this gem: "Some play to eat, but we eat to play.") She nonchalantly counts off her accomplishments-like her current film Queen of Katwe and being an elephant ambassador for WildAid-over Nas' "New York State of Mind" beat.

For those who doubted Nyong'o when she said she was secretly a rapper, let this serve as her epic mic drop. Watch her show off her chops in the video below. (We hope she releases a full version on Soundcloud soon.)
