An early morning fire at Keystone Self Storage in west Lubbock caused fire damage to eight storage units and smoke damage to 20, Lubbock Fire Rescue confirmed Monday.

LFR received a 911 call around 3:20 a.m. Monday for a large glow and plumes of smoke coming from the storage complex located in the 5700 block of 41st Street. Crews arrived to find smoke coming from more than a dozen units, LFR said.

The fire was extinguished with no injuries and the Lubbock Fire Marshal's Office is investigating.

Mobile home fire displaces 1 Saturday

One person was displaced after their north-Lubbock mobile home caught fire Saturday evening.

Lubbock firefighters were dispatched around 7:10 p.m. to the Lubbock RV Park in the 4800 Block of North Interstate 27. When crews arrived, they found a small mobile home fully engulfed in flames, according to Lubbock Fire Rescue.

Crews began to fight the fire and entered the structure, but conditions worsened and firefighters were ordered to evacuate. The blaze was eventually controlled with no injuries, LFR said.

The South Plains chapter of the American Red Cross is assisting the displaced person and the Lubbock Fire Marshal's Office is investigating the cause of the fire.
