On May 1, shots aired into Campbell’s home on Floyd Street. He was sitting on his bed playing video games when he was hit in the head.

We (Lynchburg Police Department, LPD) have reason to believe that the Terrion Marshall and Kingston Campbell homicides may be related.  We are asking and encouraging anyone with information on either of these unsolved cases to come forward and share the information with the LPD.”

the LPD told WFXR News.

At this time, police have not clarified why they believe these two cases may be connected.

“[I’m] not very much surprised because of the loss of the 16-year-old, and I think it was connected with others. I think it was a kind of retaliation thing,” said ‘One Community, One Voice‘ Executive Director, James Cam. “It just hurts to know that this is just another dagger into the heart of the family.”

Cam said the organization has worked with Crime Stoppers in Lynchburg to give a $7,000 reward to anyone with information that leads to the arrest and conviction of Campbell’s murderer.

By the end of 2023, three fatal shootings occurred in the Diamond Hill community all involving children.
