Low-key BFFs Emma Stone and Brie Larson are officially giving us Busy and Michelle vibes this Oscars season
While we’ve all kept busy obsessing over red carpet photos, fashion choices, interviews, and speeches from during year’s awards season, something was happening right under our noses that we totally missed until today: Emma Stone and Brie Larson have been enjoying badass lady BFF dates at all of the hottest events and parties, giving Busy Phillips and Michelle Williams a serious run for their money.
And though Stone already played the late, great Gwen Stacy in Spider-Man while Larson is preparing to take on the role of Captain Marvel, we’re ready for a totally separate superhero franchise of these two legends kicking ass and taking names as ridiculously talented, totally unbeatable best friends, ASAP.
Larson, who won Best Actress last year for Room and is a woke queen on Twitter you should totally be following, will present during tonight’s Academy Awards, while Stone is currently the favorite to take home the same trophy this year. They’ve been low-key friends for years — Larson told Entertainment Tonight last January that Stone was her awards season “mentor” — but had never been photographed together at a public event until just a few weeks ago.
Luckily, these first photographs — from the 23rd Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards back in January — made up for plenty of lost BFF time.

And of course, they enjoyed a seemingly deep heart-to-heart.
They let Larson’s fiancé Alex Greenwald — yes, the lead singer of Phantom Planet you had a crush on in junior high — in on the fun for a quick second, but tbh neither looked that enthused.
They’re clearly a Busy-and-Michelle situation waiting to happen, and by the time they reunited at the 10th Annual Women in Film pre-Oscar cocktail party this weekend, Stone looked like she was ready to kiss Larson straight on the mouth.
And we get it, tbqh.
These two are the “equally talented at drama and comedy” best friends we never knew we needed.
They’re basically one Jennifer Lawrence away from becoming totally unstoppable. God help us all.
