A new affidavit details the moments leading up to shots being fired and Koby Caraveo killed last week.

Documents report that Caraveo had just broken up with a woman earlier in the year.

Moments before the shooting, he allegedly told her he wanted to pick up some of his things from her apartment near NW 10th and Rockwell.

On April 9th she was reportedly hanging out with Christopher Burris, a felon with several convictions. They were driving to her apartment at the time.

The affidavit stated that when Burris found out that Caraveo was headed to her apartment he allegedly told her, “I hope he comes to the apartment, that’s a free kill.”

The woman then got out of the car and began walking to the staircase which leads to her apartment with Koby allegedly walking behind her.

Officials said that Koby was taken to the hospital where he would later die.

Burris, according to documents was told to leave afterwards by a female within the complex. He would eventually be found and arrested according to Oklahoma City Police.

The documents state that Koby leaves behind a daughter and several family members as well as friends.

Those loved ones held a memorial gathering Saturday in his honor.

“Koby was a loving son grandson, brother and friend. He loved people and people loved him back. Koby was kind, generous and loyal to a fault. His smile lit up every room he walked into. He always stuck up for the underdog. The world was a better place with Koby in it. He was only 22 and taken from us too soon by this senseless murder. He will be loved and missed forever.”
