Love Island's Eve Gale has confirmed that she went on a date with former The Only Way is Essex star Demi Sims.

The reality star recently returned to the ITV2 show in the recent All Stars series alongside twin sister Jess, and while Jess finished as runner-up with Callum Jones, Eve's relationship with Casey O'Gorman didn't work out.

Eve and Jess recently appeared on an episode of Demi's new podcast that she hosts with her sister Frankie, Sims Squared, where they spoke about their love lives.

Demi confirmed: "Me and Eve went on a date last week for anyone watching and it was our first date, wasn't it?"

"I think we kind of have had other dates," Eve said, "but it hasn't been a 'date date'. That was our first date... I had the best date ever."

The pair explained that they had been friends for three years after meeting at an event in London after lockdown, but only recently decided to take things a step further.

Speaking in more detail about the date, Demi said: "I was nervous that it was going to get awkward, because usually, we've always got people around... So I was thinking, 'Is there going to be any awkward silences?'

"But then when I picked you up, you were chewing my ear off, I actually didn't get a word in... And then we got there, had a drink, had so much food, didn't we? It was quite a short date, to be fair."

On the podcast, the pair also said that they usually get mistaken for "besties", after posting a snap from their date on social media.

Demi asked the Love Island star, "Am I the only girl that you'd ever date?", to which Eve said, "Yes! I said this to Demi, I actually would never even go on a date with another girl."

Last month, fellow contestant Georgia Steel confirmed that she and Toby Aromolaran had split up just two months after coming in fourth place in the All Stars series.

Love Island airs on ITV2 and streams on ITVX.
