Los Angeles police offering $50,000 for information on hit-and-run suspect

A hit-and-run driver remains outstanding after fatally striking a woman in Los Angeles in October, and now authorities are offering a cash reward for information leading to an arrest.

According to a community alert issued by the Los Angeles Police Department, the fatal hit-and-run occurred around 1:45 p.m. on Oct. 29 on Long Beach Avenue near 48th Place in L.A.’s Central-Alameda neighborhood.

The victim, identified by LAPD as Dianna Hernandez, was walking on Long Beach Avenue when she was struck by the suspect’s vehicle, police said.

The suspect fled in their vehicle – described by authorities as a white 2003-2006 Ford Expedition – going south down Long Beach Avenue from 48th Place.

LAPD investigators are now offering a $50,000 reward for information leading to the identification, arrest and prosecution of the suspect, who is facing a felony hit-and-run charge.

To provide information regarding the October hit-and-run, contact LAPD Officer Balderas or Detective Ramirez with the Central Traffic Division by calling 213-833-8713. Calls can also be directed to the Central Traffic Division Watch Commander at 213-833-3746.

After business hours and on weekends, individuals are asked to call LAPD’s 24-hour hotline at 1-877-527-3247 to submit information.
