SEC Women's Basketball Tournament in Greenville: Downtown Dribble, Sunkist Fanfare Event

Those strolling through downtown Greenville this week will notice the streets adorned in colorful banners, sidewalk decals and flags. A giant inflatable ball will also be in Falls Park for selfies.

The decor is a welcome to the thousands of fans who will be in the city for the SEC Women's Basketball Tournament from Thursday, March 7 through Saturday, March 10, at the Bon Secours Wellness Arena.

If you are not attending the game but still want to partake in the celebration, here are events organized by VisitGreenvilleSC that are open to all to attend.

Fan fest events

2024 Downtown Dribble: A free event for kids ages 5-14 years old. In celebration of the Tournament, children will dribble a short route from NOMA Square to the Bon Secours Wellness Arena. Participants will receive a free basketball, a free event T-shirt at registration and one free ticket to the 4:30 Saturday Semifinals. The event begins at 1 p.m. at NOMA Square.

∎ Sunkist Soda SEC Fanfare Event: This event will happen just outside the Bon Secours Wellness Arena at the following times:

∘ Friday, March 8: 10 a.m.-6:30 p.m.

∘ Saturday, March 9: 2:30 p.m.-7 p.m.

∘ Sunday, March 10: 11:30 a.m.-3 p.m.

SEC Women's Basketball Tournament Schedule

March 6: First Round, Session 1, starts at 11 a.m.

March 7: Second Round, Session 2, starts at noon; Session 3 starts at 6 p.m.

March 8: Quarterfinals, Session 4, starts at Noon; Session 5 starts at 6 p.m.

March 9: Semifinals, Session 6, starts at 4:30 p.m.

March 10: Championship, Session 7, starts at 3 p.m.

Traffic Control

Officers from the Greenville Police Department will provide traffic control on streets surrounding the arena. Motorists should remain alert to pedestrians and officers' instructions when traveling in the vicinity.

Parking

Visitors can park at any of the city-owned parking garages and walk to the Well. Event parking for $10 per day will be available at the nearest locations at the Church and Common parking garages. Parking will also be available in farther City garages at the regular daily rate for those willing to walk (the first hour will be free). To learn more about parking, visit parking.greenvillesc.gov.

Clear bag policy

A clear bag policy will be in place for fans entering the tournament. Only medically necessary items will be considered after inspection at the gate.

The guidelines are as follows:

∎ Clear plastic, vinyl or PVC bags that do not exceed 12” x 6” x 12”

∎ One-gallon clear plastic freezer bags (Ziploc bag or similar)

∎ Small clutch bags, no larger than 4.5” x 6.5” (with or without a handle or strap)
