A look at the Memorial Day services planned in Coshocton County

COSHOCTON − Various celebration for Memorial Day across Coshocton County have been announced by Coshocton County Veteran Services.

They include:

● A veterans memorial church service will be held at 9:30 a.m. May 26 at Keene United Methodist Church. Lunch will be from 10:30 a.m. to noon with the annual parade following.

● Services in Blissfield will be at 2 p.m. May 26 at the Blissfield Cemetery. Guest speaker will be local historian Larry Stahl. The Walhonding Rube Band will perform.

● Services in Plainfield will be at 2 p.m. May 26 at Plainfield Cemetery. The Ridgewood Marching Generals Band and high school choir will perform. The Coshocton County Honor Guard will participate in the ceremony. Guest speaker is Nathan Hardesty, a former member of the Army National Guard. Ceremony will be at Planfield United Methodist Church in case of inclement weather.

● The Walhonding Valley and Warsaw parade will be at 1 p.m. May 27 with services following at Valley View Cemetery.

● The annual parade in Coshocton will be at 10 a.m. May 27 with lineup starting at 8:30 a.m. between Central Christian Church and Sacred Heart Church at the corner of Main and Eighth streets. Services will follow on the Coshocton Court Square with a special tribute to fallen comrades who have died since last Memorial Day.
