Take a Look at Gallerist Francis Sultana's Newest Collection

Francis Sultana, who heads up London’s David Gill Gallery, has long steeped himself in the haute design world. He’s scored placement on our AD100 list as well as AD France's Top Interior Designers list. Sultana now has yet another stylish design project up his sleeve: On September 15, he will launch his fourth decor collection. Comprised of 18 examples ranging from furniture, lighting, and distinctive upholstery fabrics to tabletop items like bronze and rock crystal candlesticks, the line, dubbed Narmina, will debut at Thierry Despont's swank Claridge’s hotel and be available for purchase in his St. James showroom.

So where has Sultana found inspiration this time around? "Art Deco design by the likes of Ruhlmann and Rateau for their pared-down lines, as well as exotic materials reminiscent of Coco Chanel tweeds and lavish jewels by Cartier," he says. "Of course I’m also heavily influenced by Pierre Bergé and Yves Saint Laurent’s opulent apartment."

Expect sleek chaises and commodes edged in patinated bronze. Nearby, his curvilinear daybed is upholstered in lush amber mohair velvet. “There’s a sense of unbridled luxury to the daybeds,” says Sultana, renowned for his brand of urban chic with a relaxed sensibility.

His sophisticated Petra Floor Lamp and Nardia Table Lamp, boasting chunky rock crystal bases, sum up Francis’ predilection for the extravagant and for flawless craftsmanship.

“Just as I fine-tuned the interiors of a Georgian townhouse with contemporary design, my latest Narmina fits perfectly in a grand century townhouse or a sprawling country estate as well as an edgy loft,” the designer summarizes.
