Longview man sentenced to 45 years in prison for 2022 fatal shooting

LONGVIEW, Texas (KETK) — A Longview man has been sentenced to 45 years in prison in relation to a 2022 fatal shooting.

Davadius Thomas, 26, was found guilty of murder on Tuesday for the fatal shooting of 30-year-old Kenny McFarland Jr.

On July 5, 2022, the Longview Police Department responded to the 100 block of Queens Ct. at around 11:48 p.m. to do a welfare check.

When officials arrived to the address, they found McFarland with a gunshot wound and took him to a hospital where he later died.
