Lockport alderman charged with two counts of harassment in urination incident
LOCKPORT, N.Y. (WIVB) — A Lockport city lawmaker has been charged in a bizarre incident, involving him allegedly urinating outside his home.
Lockport Alderman Mark Devine, a Republican, has been charged with two counts of harassment in the second degree in connection with the incident. Lockport Police Chief Steve Abbott confirmed Devine had been charged.
The incident dates back to April 11, when police received an initial report from a neighbor that the alderman allegedly urinated outside of his home between a neighbor’s home in the sight of children. Police said the alleged victim signed a harassment violation.
Police said they consulted with the Niagara County District Attorney’s Office on the case and the matter was sent to a city judge. Police said the judge issued a criminal summons for Devine to answer to two counts of harassment in the second degree.
Abbott said Devine appeared on Monday in court and is due back on June 3. News 4 WIVB has attempted to contact Devine multiple times but has yet to hear back.
