Lockheed Martin to bring site to Fort Smith, plans hiring event for April

FORT SMITH, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — Lockheed Martin plans to bring a site to Fort Smith to bolster the Ebbing Air National Guard base and will hold a hiring event for positions at the site.

A spokesperson with Lockheed Martin says the new site will consist of a mix of new, old, and remodeled buildings.

According to a LinkedIn post from Lockheed Martin’s recruitment marketing head Lara Oettinger, the aircraft company is hiring F-35 Aircraft Mechanics and support, quality assurance, IT specialists, logistics and security.

Fort Smith receives additional air base funding for pilot training mission

The hiring event will be April 16 from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Wyndham Fort Smith City Center.

According to a press release, the company will conduct interviews and make same-day hiring decisions for candidates who meet basic qualifications.

“We are looking forward to meeting and engaging with the Fort Smith community at the Lockheed Martin hiring event to fill positions that will support training international F-35 pilots. We encourage candidates to preregister for the April 16 event,” said Keith Petrosky, director of talent acquisition for Lockheed Martin.
