Local nonprofit raises $20K for sick children

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — Wichita’s Littlest Heroes, a nonprofit that works to help children with complex medical needs, raised $20,000 during its Superhero 5K on April 27.

The nonprofit sent a news release with the announcement. The funds will go directly toward funding essential programs and providing financial assistance to those in need.

The 5K and family walk was held at Sedgwick County Park and had over 300 participants.

“As we reflect on the success of our Superhero 5k, we’re reminded of the power of coming together for a common cause,” the news release said. “Your involvement has helped us create meaningful change and support for Wichita’s Littlest Heroes.

“Thank you once again for joining us and making our event a resounding success. Together, we are truly making a difference in the lives of our Hero kids.”
