Local News | Memorial Day events will honor Longmont veterans

May 24—Residents can commemorate departed U.S. military veterans at several ceremonies over Memorial Day weekend.

On Saturday, volunteers will mark veteran graves with U.S. flags at Mountain View Cemetery, 620 11th Ave. Participants are asked to gather at 9 a.m. at the Civil War statue in the middle of the cemetery.

Monday will feature wreath-laying ceremonies at 9 a.m. at Stephen Day Park, 1340 Deerwood Drive; at 10 a.m. at Foothills Gardens of Memory cemetery, 14241 N. 107th St.; and at 10 a.m. at Mountain View Cemetery.

Services will be followed at noon by a flag-raising and lunch at the American Legion Post 32, 315 S. Bowen St.
