MOREHEAD

St. Claire HealthCare and UK HealthCare announced plans to expand their partnership.

The agreement was approved Friday by UK's Board of Trustees and St. Claire's Board of Directors.

According to the release, "this transformative collaboration is an extension of a strong existing relationship between these two institutions that will prioritize patient care access, expand medical education opportunities and provide significant availability for a multitude of advanced clinical services to northeastern Kentucky."

Basket bingo upcoming

CATLETTSBURG

Vintage Longaberger basket bingo will be at 6 p .m. Thursday at the Boyd County Cooperative Extension Office.

The event is a fundraiser for the Boyd County Homemakers community projects.

Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. and games will start at 6 p.m.

There will be 20 games for $20. We will have door prizes, raffle baskets and 50/50.

Refreshments will be available for purchase.

The office is at 2420 Center St.

Drug Takeback will be Saturday

ASHLAND

Drug Takeback Day in Ashland will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. today at the police station at 201 17th St.

It's the 26th annual National Prescription Drug Take Back Day.

According to a DEA news release, the event aims to remove unneeded prescriptions from homes to help prevent medication misuse by offering anonymous disposal of unneeded medications at close to 5,000 local drop-off locations nationwide.

Residents may bring any unused or expired medication for safe disposal.

Participants should come to the garage doors on the alley side to drive through and deposit prescription drugs with staff members.
