Local fire departments respond to reported fire in West Elmira

WEST ELMIRA, N.Y. (WETM) – Three local fire departments responded to the scene of a reported fire on Monday afternoon in West Elmira.

According to an 18 News reporter on the scene, the fire took place on Monday, March 18, around 4:15 p.m. at a home on Sunnyside Drive in West Elmira.

Chemung County Sheriff’s Office to host boater safety classes

Fire units from West Elmira, Southport and Elmira Heights arrived at the scene to tend to the fire that 18 News believes broke out on the second floor of the home. A person on the scene told 18 News that no one was at home at the time of the fire.
