Elmira, N.Y. (WETM)- We’ve got a hot summery day planned for today. How long do the summer-like temperatures stick around? Details below:

TODAY:

Clouds from overnight will burn off throughout the rest of our morning, and make way for mostly clear, sunny skies this afternoon. We should continue to stay dry under high-pressure today, but daytime heating may support a pop-up shower or two this afternoon. Temperatures today are in the upper 80s with a few areas potentially seeing 90.

TONIGHT:

Tonight we are back to dry and mostly clear. High pressure begins to shift eastward overnight. Lows tonight are in the low 60s.

REST OF THE WEEK:

We are tracking a chance for severe thunderstorms on Wednesday evening and overnight into Thursday morning. We are already under a level 2-slight risk for severe storms, and this highlights the risk for damaging gusty winds, heavy downpours within storms, and small hail. We will continue to monitor that risk as we move closer to the midweek.
