Live election results: Hagerstown mayor and city council

This year's election cycle includes the Hagerstown mayoral contest and all five City Council seats.

Both races are considered nonpartisan and appeared on primary ballots.

Both mayoral candidates, Bill McIntire and Stephen S. Schutte, will move onto the General Election.

Current Mayor Tekesha Martinez is not running for re-election as mayor. She filed as a Democratic candidate for the 6th Congressional District.

Of the 11 candidates for City Council, the top 10 vote-getters will move onto the General Election.

Candidates for City Council include incumbents Kristin B. Aleshire and Tiara R. Burnett as well as current council members Matthew J. Schindler and Peter E. Perini Sr. who were both appointed to the council last year to fill vacancies.

Incumbent Shelley McIntire did not run for re-election.

The challengers are Caroline Anderson, Erika T. Bell, Mark Bell, Sean Flaherty, Journie Martinez, Stacy L. Michael and Rich Owens.

Below is the latest vote total as of Wednesday morning, including early voting, mail-in ballots that have been counted so far, and all nine city Election Day precincts in Washington County. The names in bold are the leaders for mayor and the top 10 spots for City Council. However, not all ballots have been counted, including mail-in and provisional ballots.

These are unofficial and incomplete results.

As of Tuesday, 1,388 mail-in ballots containing city election contests had been counted. That's out of a total of 2,873 mail-in ballots sent out that included city races, according to a May 13 mail-in ballot report. The last day for canvassing eligible mail-in ballots, postmarked by Election Day, is May 24.
