After little over a year, this Miami Beach seafood restaurant is closed for good
The Sunset Harbour neighborhood of Miami Beach has a new restaurant casualty.
Joliet, the New Orleans-style seafood restaurant from operators Lost Boy & Co., has closed for good at 1209 17th St. in Miami Beach.
The restaurant announced its closing on its Instagram account. Its last day of service was April 21.
“We are immensely grateful to our front and back-of-house team for their hard work and dedication,” the post said. “We also want to thank our loyal guests and everyone who came out to support us. It has been a pleasure serving you and the local community.”

The restaurant opened in December of 2022. At the time, Chris Hudnall of Lost Boy & Co said that Joliet came about as a response to a lack of seafood restaurants on Miami Beach.
“Every new restaurant now seems to be Italian or sushi, a lot of the same stuff, which is needed,” he told The Miami Herald. “But there wasn’t really a restaurant that was seafood-heavy in this fashion, at least not on the beach.”
Lost Boy’s tapas restaurant Tropezón, which opened on Española Way in Miami Beach in December of 2021, will remain open. The brand is also responsible for the bar Lost Boy Dry Goods, the relaunch of South Miami’s Fox’s Lounge as well as the rooftop bar SipSip and restaurant Mayfair Grill at the Mayfair House Hotel & Garden in Coconut Grove.
