LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Churches in and around Arkansas will be celebrating Easter Sunday, March 31, with sunrise services.

Sunrise services celebrate Jesus no longer in the tomb that morning.

Arkansas Storm Team Forecast: Updated Easter Weekend Forecast

This list has churches with sunrise services starting before 9 a.m. Some exceptions were made if church activity begins before 9 a.m., followed by an Easter service.

Little Rock

  • Ashbury United Methodist Church, sunrise service at 6:50 a.m., 1700 Napa Valley Dr., Little Rock. Traditional service at 9 a.m.

  • Henderson United Methodist Church sunrise service at 7 a.m., 13000 W Baseline Rd, Little Rock. Pancake breakfast to follow.

  • Second Presbyterian Church, 600 Pleasant Valley Drive services at 8:30 and 11 a.m., 600 Pleasant Valley Drive.

  • St. Marks Episcopal Church, Eucharist service at 8 a.m., 1000 North Mississippi, Little Rock. An Easter egg hunt and breakfast will follow at 9:15 a.m., followed by a Eucharist Service at 10:30 a.m., followed by another Easter egg hunt and an additional Eucharist Service at 5 p.m.

  • Trinity Episcopal Cathedral, Holy Eucharist 7 a.m., 9 a.m., Eggstravaganza at 10:30 a.m. then Holy Eucharist, 11 a.m., 310 W. 17th St.

North Little Rock

  • Central Baptist Church of North Little Rock, sunrise service at 7:30 a.m. in the yard in front of the sanctuary, breakfast to follow, 5200 Fairway Ave., North Little Rock. Worship at 9 & 10:30 a.m.

Sherwood

  • Levy United Methodist Church, North Pulaski United Methodist Church, and Sylvan Hills United Methodist Church will celebrate together with Word, Song, and Praise with service beginning at 6:30 a.m. March 31, 9921 Highway 107, Sherwood. Free pancake breakfast to follow.

  • Indianhead Lake Baptist Church at 6:30 a.m., March 31, 8601 Indianhead Dr., Sherwood. Sunday school will follow at 9:45 a.m., and worship at 11 a.m.

Jacksonville

  • Kaleo Church of Arkansas at 7 a.m., March 31, 213 N James St., Jacksonville. Breakfast to follow then a 10 a.m. family service.

El Paso

  • Crossroad Cowboy Church, breakfast at 7 a.m. followed by service at 9 a.m., 3701 Highway 5, El Paso. After service, there will be an Easter egg hunt in the 2Bar2 Arena.

Hot Springs

  • First United Methodist Church at 6:30 a.m., March 31, Arlington Lawn. Traditional services follow at 9 and 11 a.m.

Heber Springs

  • Mountain Top Cowboy Church sunrise service at 6:45 a.m., 45 Heber Springs Rd. W, Heber Springs. Resurrection Morning Service to follow at 9 a.m.

Russellville

  • All Saints Episcopal Church service at 8 a.m., 501 S Phoenix Ave., Russellville. A potluck breakfast will follow at 9:15 a.m., and the worship service will begin at 10:30 a.m.

Plumerville

  • Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, with other churches and guests joining at 6:30 a.m. March 31, 896 Highway 92, Plumerville, north parking lot. Service is scheduled to end at 7:15 a.m., followed by breakfast at 9:30 a.m. and a special Easter service at 10:30 a.m.
