Lincoln County man sexually assaulted a juvenile, charged: Sheriff

LINCOLN COUNTY, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A man has been arrested on sexual assault charges with a child, according to the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office.

On Saturday, March 23, detectives responded to the scene where a man had reportedly sexually assaulted a juvenile.

Ricardo Leal Tapia, 43, was booked into the Harven A Crouse Detention Center under a $250,000 secured bond for the charges of:

  • Indecent liberties with a child

  • Statutory sex offense with a child by an adult

  • Sexual activity by a substitute parent or guardian

Officials said the investigation is still active and more charges are pending.
