A nice clean, put-together home is wonderful, but sometimes your decor might feel like it’s missing something. You might have framed pictures and vases, but does your table look a little bare? A nice tray can fix that problem right up; it’s a little different than a vase and you can still put coordinated trinkets or decorations in there (even more than in a vase). And Walmart is selling a couple of $15 wooden trays and bowls that really elevate a tablescape (and are similar to $249 Pottery Barn wood dough trays).

Walmart’s Better Homes & Gardens home brand has two simple and trendy wood trays: the Better Homes & Gardens 12" x 6" Hand Carved Wood Tray by Dave & Jenny Marrs and the Better Homes & Gardens Indoor Carved Mid-Tone Brown Wood Decorative Dough Bowl. Both are $14.97 at the moment and are noted as best sellers on Walmart’s website. They are similar in size; the hand-carved wood tray is 12 inches by 6 inches and has a curved rectangular shape. The decorative dough bowl is 15 inches long, 6.3 inches wide and 3.35 inches tall; this one is more curved with a rough edge.

Shopping Instagram account, @cheapchicfinds, posted these two bowls when she posted a ton of other home decor items at Walmart right now. The comments were very into how good they looked, with one person commenting, “They are killing it!!!” The Dave & Jenny Marrs tray is flatter and good for displaying flowers, keys by the front door and other things that will be clearly visible.

The reviews are also favorable, with one titled, “Authentically rustic wood tray." They wrote that even though it “has the rustic vibe” it can work within any aesthetic.

“It feels like they made the tray specifically for each customer,” they wrote. “The uses are endless even if it is a decorative tray..."

The Carved Wood Decorative Dough Bowl is taller and is more of a “bowl” shape per its name. This makes it great for fruit, pumpkins or any other round, taller items that you want to display. This is also well-received by customers, with one person writing that it’s “very pretty” and they “used it for rolls on the Thanksgiving table, with linen cloth” as well as “party favors.”

Another person wrote that it was a “unique wood tray” and yet another person wrote that “you can dress it up or down for an elegant home decor piece.”

"This bowl is lovely, and just as pictured,” another shopper wrote. “It serves many decorative uses for the holidays or year-round."

As you can see, these $15 wood decor trays are a hit with customers. They also fit in with higher-end stores like Pottery Barn and Crate & Barrel. The former sells Wooden Dough Bowl Trays for $249. These Pottery Barn trays are larger than both Walmart trays, with a similar “rustic” or “rough” look as the dough bowl.

Crate & Barrel’s Tondo Acacia Wood Long Oblong Platter is also a pretty good comparison for the Walmart wood decor trays. It’s $39.95 and is a fun, stretched pear shape. It’s very smooth and shiny and flat, so it can be used similarly to Walmart’s Dave & Jenny Marrs wood tray. It’s also larger than both Better Homes & Garden bowls, measuring 20.5 inches long, 9 inches wide and 1 inch tall.
