Michelle Obama Reveals Paperback Edition of “The Light We Carry” — See the Video (Exclusive)

The former First Lady visited her new book and even signed a few copies for lucky visitors

Former First Lady Michelle Obama has revealed the new paperback edition of her second book, The Light We Carry with a video of herself visiting it in stores. Watch her see the new edition in person, below.

In the follow-up to her first book, Becoming, Obama offers readers new stories and thoughtful reflections on "change, challenge and power, including her belief that when we light up for others, we can illuminate the richness and potential of the world around us, discovering deeper truths and new pathways for progress," according to the book's description.

The book shares the wisdom Obama has gleaned as a mother, daughter, spouse and First Lady as well as the habits she has developed to adapt to change and overcome obstacles. She shares what she considers her most valuable practices, like “starting kind,” “going high” and assembling a “kitchen table” of trusted friends and mentors.
 
“When we are able to recognize our own light, we become empowered to use it,” writes Obama in a statement shared with PEOPLE.

The paperback release, which hit stores on April 16, will feature a brand new readers' discussion guide.

The Light We Carry is now available in both hardcover and paperback, wherever books are sold.
