Melania Trump is back in the public eye and she may be hinting at a greater comeback as Donald Trump heats up his 2024 presidential campaign. On Tuesday, the rarely-seen couple headed to a Palm Beach, Florida polling location to cast their ballot in the presidential primary, and it could be the start of more frequent Melania sightings.

The former first lady has been markedly absent from Donald Trump’s court hearings and his Super Tuesday watch party at their home base at Mar-a-Lago earlier this month. Understandably, Melania took some private time to mourn the passing of her mother, Amalija Knavs, but she’s also taken a back seat in his third presidential campaign. So, it wasn’t surprising when one member of the press pool asked if she would be stepping back into her campaign role.

“Stay tuned,” Melania teased.

A source told People that the 53-year-old former model will likely be selective about the events she attends — that means no rallies for her. “Melania dislikes a petting zoo,” the insider revealed. “She goes when she has to but if it’s not essential she prefers to stay out of the public eye. When an event is packed full of campaigning types and crowds of people even at Mar-a-Lago, she tries to opt-out.” She’s also reaching a major milestone with son Barron, who turned 18 on March 20.

Besides graduating from the Oxbridge Academy this spring, Barron will also be making those important college decisions. A second source believes his location will make a big impact on Melania, whether Donald Trump wins the White House or not. “Melania’s main job is taking care of Barron, and I think it’s possible that she will follow him wherever he goes to school,” they said. “Barron is shy and reserved, and she has been a good mother to him all of these years.”

With Donald Trump’s Republican Party nomination almost locked up, Melania might have to look at her 2024 calendar and decide when she’s going to accompany her husband on the political trail. She doesn’t love the spotlight, and that’s a pretty hard position to be in if Donald Trump lands back in the White House.
