Kelly Clarkson's 10-show stint at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas, titled "Chemistry: An Intimate Night with Kelly Clarkson," is underway, and so far it has exceeded all expectations. From shocking fans by changing the lyrics to her hit song "Piece by Piece"to covering a new song every night, this residency has kept us on our toes. Night five at the Bakkt theatre might just be one of our favorites because Clarkson covered a song by one of our other favorite artists: Lainey Wilson.

Clarkson had Wilson on her talkshow, The Kelly Clarkson Show, back in February, and she admits that ever since she's been "obsessed" with Lainey and her music. She told fans that she had Wilson's new album Bell Bottom Country on repeat at her Montana home all summer long. In honor of that, Clarkson covered Lainey's most popular song on Bell Bottom Country called "Heart Like a Truck."

"There's this new artist. I had her on my show and I fell in love with her, and her name is Lainey Wilson," Clarkson told her Las Vegas audience.

It's safe to say that this cover was a big hit among fans. They commented: "CHILLS....so good" and "Y'all just gotta love KC she's just awesome🔥." Another fan chimed in applauding Lainey for how far she's come, "You know you've made it when @kellyclarkson is singing your song during her shows!!!! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼💙💙💙💙💙💙💙@laineywilson."

Clarkson admitted to fans that she had never sung Wilson's song before the day of her concert and she even messed up the lyrics and started over. Of course, she personalized the song just a bit changing Lainey's Chevy lyric to Ford, her personal truck preference.

We love to see two of our favorite artists appreciating each other's music, hopefully there is a Clarkson-Wilson collaboration in our future!
