‘New life’: Apartments added to historic Greenville building

GREENVILLE, Mich. (WOOD) — Residents have moved into a new apartment complex in downtown Greenville after a revitalization project.

The five apartments were built above L’Image Hair Salon, located at 328 S Lafayette St. near Washington Street using $500,000 in funding from the Michigan Economic Development Corporation, Orion Construction said.

In a release, Orion Construction said the project blends vintage charm and contemporary living, and that the project “breathes new life” into the historic building.

“Converting historic buildings into modern apartments honors the past, revitalizes communities, and offers a unique living experience,” Orion Construction CEO Roger Rehkopf said in the release.

Crews finished construction on the project on March 29. Four of the five apartments have had tenants move in, Orion Construction said.
