Liberty Middle School student dies after medical episode on campus

MADISON, Ala (WHNT) — Madison City Schools says the student who was taken to the hospital Tuesday after a medical emergency has died.

In a statement to parents shared with News 19 Wednesday, Liberty Middle School Principal Shannon Brown said seventh grader Morgan Williams died after experiencing a medical episode on campus.

Madison City Schools told News 19 on Tuesday that a student, now identified as Williams, was taken to the hospital after a medical emergency in Physical Education Class.

“We are saddened by this loss to our school community and will make every effort to help you and your child as needed,” Brown said in the statement. “Please keep the Williams family in your thoughts.”

The school system said they would have counselors available at LMS for the rest of the week to help students and parents process the loss.
