LHS track sweeps team titles at John Gasner Invite

Mar. 24—The Laramie High track and field teams swept the team titles at Friday's John Gasner Invite in Sidney, Nebraska.

The boys finished first with 127 team points, and the girls also finished first with 141.

For the boys, Jackson Reed took first in the 200-meter dash at 23.51 seconds to win the first of five events for the Plainsmen. Flynn Arnold claimed first in the 400 dash at 52.63, and Gideon Moore was first in the 3,200 run at 10 minutes, 31.25 seconds.

Fisher Frude finished first in the pole vault at 13 feet. William Arens was first in triple jump, soaring 39 feet, 6.5 inches.

On the girls side, Addie Forry took first in the 200 dash at 27.04 to win the team's first event of the day. Lainey Berryhill set a personal-record to claim first in the 400 dash at 59.20.

The Plainsmen girls also won the 4x400 relay at 4:16.51. Kate Lewis was first in shot put at 38-2.5, and Addison Fowler took first in pole vault at 9-6.

Both the LHS boys and girls will return to the track next Friday in Wheatland.
