League of Women Voters announce officers

May 25—The Cass County League of Women Voters announced its officers for 2024-25.

Lora Redweik will serve as president and Susan Jarrell will serve as vice president, the group said Friday in a press release. Vicki Byrd will act as secretary and Susan Spencer will be the treasurer. At Large Members include Carolyn Cassidy, Joan Davis and Cindy White.

The League held it's annual meeting on Tuesday, May 21, at the West Side Diner.

The League of Women Voters is a nonpartisan civic organization that encourages informed and active participation in government. Theye work to increase understanding of major public policy issues and influence public policy through education and advocacy.

During the 2023-24 year, the League hosted two Town Hall meetings focusing on local policy issues, registered voters and assisted with the 2023 Municipal General Election Debate.

The public is invited to the next meeting on Wednesday, August 21 at 6:30 pm. The meeting will be held in the West Room of the Logansport Cass County Library.
