Lawrence County man indicted on multiple child sex crime charges

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) – A Lawrence County man was arraigned on numerous child sexual exploitation charges, U.S. Attorney Prim F. Escalona and FBI Special Agent in Charge Carlton Peeples announced Friday.

46-year-old David Edward Collier is charged with four counts of sexual exploitation of children, eight counts of transportation of child pornography, and one count of possession of child pornography. An indictment was filed in U.S. District Court last week.

According to the indictment, Collier ‘used, induced, or coerced minor children to engage in sexually explicit conduct to produce a visual depiction of that conduct’ between January 2017 and August 2022. Between October 2022 and September 2023, officials say Collier transported the child pornography.

The Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office, Moulton Police Department, Madison County Sheriff’s Office, Huntsville Police Department, and Limestone County Sheriff’s Office all assisted with the investigation.
