Las Cruces Police asks for help in identifying suspects in American Legion burglary

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — Crime Stoppers of Las Cruces-Dona Ana County is asking for the public’s help in identifying two suspects who broke into and burglarized the American Legion Post in Las Cruces on Valentine’s Day, according to the Las Cruces Police Department.

The Police Department says shortly before 5 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 14, two people, believed to be men, broke into the American Legion located at 1185 E. Madrid Ave. in Las Cruces.

The suspects stole a replica firearm and caused an estimated $16,000 in damages to the building, according to the Police Department.

The Police Department says investigators are trying to identify the two suspects and surveillance photos of the suspects will not be released at this time.

Anyone with information that can help investigators identify either one or both suspects is asked to call Crime Stoppers of Las Cruces-Dona Ana County at 1-800-222-8477.

Crime Stoppers is offering up to $1,000 for information that helps identify the suspects and allows tips to be provided anonymously.
