Lane restrictions coming to Interstate 83 in York County

YORK COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM) — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is reminding motorists of lane restrictions planned for Interstate 83 in York County on Thursday, March 28.

According to the department, the left lane of the interstate will be closed in both directions to allow for joint inspections and measurements to be conducted on the southbound bridge spanning Route 462 (Market Street), and on the northbound bridge at Loucks Mill Road.

Weather permitting, the work will be done between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Thursday.

PennDOT is warning motorists that there may be traffic or delays. Motorists should stay alert and be cautious when driving through the work area.

This work is part of an ongoing $10 million project that includes the replacement of the Eberts Lane bridge and the construction of an additional span to the existing Sherman Street bridge.

The project also includes approach work, guide rail updates, pavement marking updates, and other miscellaneous construction.
