GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) — There was a County Commissioner public hearing on
April 23, at 9 a.m. in the public hearing room in the Mesa County Old Courthouse.

During the Jan. 9 administrative public hearing, the commissioners approved a temporary moratorium on new solar developments in Mesa County to create a strong foundation for the positive growth of solar energy in the Grand Valley while considering community feedback and minimizing potential negative impacts.

On Tuesday, the board of commissioners approved the land development code. Now, people in Mesa County can apply for a solar farm, solar garden or production facility following the guidelines laid out in the development code.
