Lancaster man dies after crashing motorcycle into cargo van

LANCASTER (WCMH) – A Fairfield County man is dead after his motorcycle struck a cargo van Monday afternoon.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred on County Road 45 in Greenfield Township, near Lancaster, in Fairfield County. At 12:43 p.m. Monday, troopers reported that a man driving a 2021 Ram ProMaster 3500 was attempting to pull into a private driveway when another man operating a 2005 Zhejiang Leike Machine Industry Co. motorcycle struck the Ram as it was turning.

Greenfield Township medics arrived at the scene and pronounced Dean Kiger, 44, of Lancaster, dead at 12:57 p.m. The OSHP said Kiger was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, which remains under investigation.
