Lancaster Catholic pulls away from Hughesville in state quarterfinals

POTTSVILLE, Pa. (WHTM) — Lancaster Catholic girls basketball has looked like one of the best 3A girls teams in the state all season, but they had to shake off a tough Hughesville team to stay alive in the state quarterfinals.

The Spartans challenged the Crusaders in the first half, carrying a four point lead into the final seconds of the half before Autumn Lipson splashed a three at the buzzer to bring Lancaster Catholic within one. The Crusaders rolled from there, pulling away for a 54-40 win.

Next up for Lancaster Catholic is a matchup with Loyalsock Township Monday night in the state semifinals. Time and location for that matchup have not yet been announced.
