Lake Forest shooting in Daphne leads to 3 arrests: Police

UPDATE (4:28 p.m.): News 5 has learned the bond for the 17-year-old arrested on a first-degree assault charge in connection with this shooting.

He is being held in the Baldwin County jail on a $30,000 bond, a judge decided Friday.

Investigators did recover a 9-mm shell casing, but the gun has not been recovered.

News 5 also learned the 16-year-old victim’s arm was broken due to the gunshot.

DAPHNE, Ala. (WKRG) — Three juveniles were arrested in connection with a shooting that sent a 16-year-old to the hospital, according to the Daphne Police Department.

A DPD press release noted that a 17-year-old and two other juveniles were arrested after police investigated the incident at a Montclair Loop pool in the Lake Forest subdivision.

The investigation began after a 16-year-old boy showed up at the hospital around 1 a.m., according to the release.

SHOOTING LOCATION:

Through the investigation, officers learned that a 17-year-old had allegedly pulled out a handgun and fired it, striking the 16-year-old in the arm.

The alleged incident happened after two groups of juveniles met up at the pool to fight over social media insults, according to Daphne police.

The 17-year-old has been charged with first-degree assault, News 5 has learned.

Two other juveniles were arrested on drug charges during the investigation, according to the release.
