Lake City man accused of holding men at gunpoint, stealing cash from one of them

LAKE CITY, S.C. (WBTW) — A Lake City man is facing a dozen charges including two counts each of attempted murder and kidnapping, according to arrest warrants obtained by News13.

Etheran Tierral Manigault, 27, faces the following charges:

  • Two counts of attempted murder

  • Two counts of kidnapping

  • Robbery while armed with a deadly weapon

  • Two counts of pointing/presenting a gun at a person

  • Two counts of possession of a weapon during a violent crime

  • First-degree burglary

  • Petit larceny

  • Malicious injury to animals, personal property of $2,000 or less

Manigault at about midnight on April 24 is accused of taking a man hostage at gunpoint as he was approaching Manigault on N. Matthews Road, according to an arrest warrant. Manigaulth already had another person he was holding hostage at gunpoint whom he allegedly stole his cellphone, $300 in cash and a pocketknife from.

Manigault is accused of pointing the gun at their heads and escorting them down N. Matthews Road, the warrant shows. When he stopped to snort cocaine, he took the gun off, when the two men fled.

When they ran off, Manigault allegedly shot at both of them multiple times. One of the bullets hit the concrete, which caused it to break off and hit one of the men in the leg.

Manigault is currently at the Florence County Detention Center with no bond on all but two charges. His remaining charges each carry a $2,125 surety bond, police said.
