Arrest made in Tuesday afternoon shooting in Lafayette
UPDATE, 8:30 P.M.: Lafayette Police have made an arrest. The suspect was identified as Tresmond Jones, 29 of Lafayette. Jones was booked in the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center and charged with attempted second degree murder.
ORIGINAL, 3:45 P.M.: LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) — Lafayette Police are asking for the public’s help in finding the person or people responsible for a shooting this afternoon.
Police responded at 1:39 p.m. today in the 1300 block of NE Evangeline Thruway to a report of a shooting in progress. Officers found a person with a non-life threatening gunshot wound. The victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
Detectives with LPD are actively investigating this incident.
