Lafayette mayor-president signs emergency declaration in response to severe storms
LAFAYETTE PARISH, La. (KLFY)– Lafayette Mayor-President Monique B. Boulet signed an emergency declaration following the severe weather that plagued Lafayette Parish last week.
In response to the significant damage caused by the storms, local officials are in the process of cleaning up debris and figuring out ways to handle high recovery costs.
“The recent severe weather has left a considerable impact on our community,” Boulet said. “Our primary concern is the safety and well-being of our residents. This emergency declaration will enable us to expedite the recovery process and secure necessary resources to address the damage.”
Boulet extended her appreciation to the emergency responders, recovery teams and volunteers that had been working to clear out any storm damage.
