Lafayette freshman earns perfect ACT score on first attempt
LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) — A freshman at Ascension Episcopal School in Lafayette has attained a perfect score, 36, on her ACT test, the school announced.
Lilly Sheets said she was as surprised as anyone at the outcome of the test. According to the school, fewer than 1% of students nationwide who take the ACT score a 36.
“At first, I thought (the scores) might have been for the wrong person,” she said in a statement released by the school. “I had hoped to score in the high twenties or low thirties, but I certainly did not expect a 36.”
The ACT is an entrance exam used by most colleges and universities to make admissions decisions. The test test covers four academic skill areas: English, mathematics, reading and scientific reasoning.
