Lab results pending in rape vs. retaliation case

CATLETTSBURG The prosecution said it intends to file paperwork for lab results from Kentucky State Police concerning a rape case the defense claims is fabricated.

On Thursday in Boyd County Circuit Court, Ronald B. Crisp, 40, of Ashland, appeared alongside his defense attorney, Sebastian Joy, who previously stated Crisp’s charge of first-degree rape is a matter of retaliation from the alleged victim.

Crisp has posted bond since his arrest last February and is awaiting a jury trial scheduled for July 29.

On Thursday, Joy and Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney Kierston Rosen requested to approach Circuit Judge John Vincent’s bench for an off-the-record conversation.

At the conclusion of the bench conference, Vincent said test results from KSP will be ordered on or before July 3.

Crisp was scheduled for a final pre-trial conference on July 11.
