La Quinta High School celebrates its Class of 2024 Blackhawks

The Class of 2024 from La Quinta High School received their diplomas during Thursday evening's graduation ceremony.

The Blackhawk Brigade performed the processional, while the Air Force JROTC Color Guard presented the colors before the Pledge of Allegiance, delivered by Nevaeh Perla — the senior associated student body vice president. Jocelyn Nicolao and Valeria Sotomonte sang the national anthem. The LQHS alma mater was performed by both the Blackhawk Brigade and the senior choir.

Senior class president Avery Doyle shared remarks and Kylie Frescas delivered the senior address. Logan Jewett, the ASB president, gave the final remarks. Twenty-five students graduated as International Baccalaureate full diploma candidates.

"The message I want to say today, like my dad always tells me, is to create your own legacy. Take risks, try something new and think to yourself, what do you want your legacy to be? What do you want others to remember about you?," Frescas said. "We now find ourselves at a point in our lives where change will be our new reality. Change is something that shouldn't be feared, but rather seen as an opportunity to grow."
